Oktoberfest !  September 9th !
Every year we celebrate the fun and awesome event known as Oktoberfest here at St. John Lutheran Church.  This year is no exception and you are invited!  We start out with our very own Polka-style Services at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  The liturgy is sung to familiar German tunes played by Don Bauer on accordion supported by his Polka band.  We will celebrate Holy Communion and have a sermon as well.
Then, at 12 noon we head out back to the Pavilion for delicious grilled brats from Rabers, sauerkraut and pot luck dishes from our wonderful cooks, music by the Rathskeller Brummers band, Quilt Raffles by our sewing ladies, liquid refreshment, and NEW for this year, A CAR CRUISE IN.  Come and see some awesome vehicles on display!
Mark your calendar and don't forget this wonderful day!
Informal Worship Service,
September 26th at 6:00 p.m.
(Remember, It's Always the 4th Wednesday of the Month!)
Many thanks to all of the people who attended the August 22nd Informal Worship Service!  I really appreciate your support in making this special service so memorable!  In September we will continue with three new songs (for me!) played on 12-string and 6-string guitar in the same toe-tapping, fun to sing fashion.  As it says in the title, it's informal, so just stop by, as you are, as we worship the Lord through song, the Word and Holy Communion.  This service is a great low-pressure way to see what we are all about at St. John Lutheran Church.  You can get as involved as you want, or just sit back and enjoy the music and message, letting the Word of God fill your heart!
