What's New in Sunday School?
Look what's happening in Sunday School in January!
Happy New Year!
I would like to thank all of our Sunday School students who participated in this year's Christmas Program. The program was a great success. In addition to the speaking parts, our students captured the hearts of the congregation when they sang "Away in a manger."
I would also like to thank Pastor Michael for writing this year's Broadway award-winning script. Well done Pastor!
January's Sunday School stories will center around the Presentation of Jesus, His visit to the temple, and the beginnings of His ministry. These are just a few of the great Bible stories that will be taught during January - and just a reminder! - Sunday School is offered EVERY Sunday starting at 9:15 a.m.
Eric Jones and Carol Alwood Lead the Adult Class:
The Adult Class continues with a brand new topic and two new teachers! Eric Jones and Carol Alwood have graciously stepped forward to lead the class on Women in the New Testament. A discussion book is available, and is used in class. Eric takes the time to look up material from other sources which makes the class very informative and enjoyable! Feel free to stop by and check the class out (make sure you get your donut and coffee before hand!) at 9:30 am. in the Conference Room (directly to the left of the handicap entrance of the church.)
In addition, KEEP COLLECTING YOUR TICKETS!
There are a lot of great gifts to exchange them for in the Sunday School Office!
Confirmation Will Be Held the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the Month During the Sunday School Hour Continuing through the Spring:
This year we have four students in the Confirmation Class - Ryan Lappie, D'Anthony Spencer, Lamarco Spencer, Briley Bruninga and Tessa Howard. Beginning November 10th, Pastor Michael and Leora Day will be co-teaching the Confirmation Class on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month from 9:15 a.m. till 10:15 a.m. in the 7th and 8th Grade Classroom on the third floor. Confirmation is a 2-year program. Pastor Michael and Leora will design the curriculum to fit the new scheduling. The class is not restricted to just 7th and 8th graders, thought their attendance is mandatory for Confirmation. Anyone older, who may have missed Confirmation is welcome to attend. It will be an informational and exciting class (Pastor Michael doesn't like boring classes.)
