Another Great Oktoberfest For Celebrating Fellowship and Christ's Love!
On September 15th, St. John Lutheran Church celebrated its largely German heritage with two Polka Services (8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.) and a wonderful afternoon out back in the pavillion with freshly grilled brats, sauer kraut, spetzel and many other kinds of German (and not German) treats and foods to fill out one's plate. The German band from the Peoria-Area German Club once again played our favorites, and the Alpine Horns showed up and even let Pastor MIchael have a try at it! The quilt raffle was a great success with three different winners! Delicious rootbeer floats topped it all off for dessert. The "Car Show" was expanded this year to include other types of vehicles. It was fun to see, and have one's picture taken, in front of any number of different collector cars. The weather cooperated and it was a mild and beautiful day to share this feelowship in the love of Christ! Pen in the date for next year - September 20th; Oktoberfest is open to all who want to come enjoy a great afternoon of good food and fun! That means you!
